Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Library will be hosting a Used Book Sale Tuesday, May 30 - Saturday, June 3 at the Library. Donations of clean, gently used, books, movies, and audio books will be accepted at the Library. Magazines, Encyclopedias, Textbooks, and Reader's Digest Condensed Version books will not be accepted. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Library and are used for programs and materials at the Library. 

 

Battle of the Books

Good luck to all students participating in the Battle of the Books on Thursday, March 30th at 6:30 PM at the Coldwater Public Library. Over 50 students from Fort Recovery and Coldwater will be competing as teams in this battle to determine who has the most knowledge. The students were given a pre-selected list of titles to read and study to prepare for the competition. This event is open to the public. 

Adult Coloring Event

Join us Tuesday, April 18th as we "color away the stress" from tax season. The Friends of the Library is sponsoring two free adult coloring sessions: 11 AM - 12 PM and 6 PM - 7 PM at the library. Light refreshments and coloring materials will be provided. Feel free to bring your own materials if you would like. 

National Library Week

National Library Week is April 7 - 13. First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April to show appreciation for our loyal patrons. The Library will waive fines up to $5 for overdue items returned during National Library Week. Stop by the library, check out new materials and sign up for great giveaways.

Enjoy Seuss-filled crafts, stories, activities and games! This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and is open to the public.

 

Genealogy 101

Join us for a free workshop for beginners who are interested in starting research on their family genealogy. Karen Bennett, board-certified genealogist, will help you get started at the Library Tuesday, March 14th, at 6:30 PM. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Guest Speaker

The public is invited to an evening at the Fort Recovery Public Library with Jackie Sheridan, a local resident, as she speaks about the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse. Jackie is a member of “A Better Life- Brianna’s Hope,” a participant-driven, faith-based recovery group for anyone battling substance abuse. Join us Tuesday, January 17th at 6:30 PM to be part of the discussion learn more about the support group. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
