Story Time
Babies through preschool aged children and a parent or guardian are invited to join us for Story Time at the Library. Story Times are held Tuesdays at 6:15 PM and Fridays at 10:30 AM, October through April. A full calendar is available for upcoming Story Times. No registration is required.

Food for Fines

The Library will be accepting non-perishable food items January 16 - January 28, 2017 in place of fines during the Annual “Food For Fines” event. $1.00 in fines will be waived for every item donated up to a maximum of $5.00. Fees from lost or damaged library materials are not eligible to be waived.

The public is invited to an evening at the Fort Recovery Public Library with Jackie Sheridan, a local resident, as she speaks about the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse. Jackie is a member of “A Better Life- Brianna’s Hope,” a participant-driven, faith-based recovery group for anyone battling substance abuse. Join us Tuesday, January 17th at 6:30 PM to be part of the discussion learn more about the support group. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. 

Used Book Sale

Used books, dvds, and audiobooks are available for purchase at the Library February 6th - February 11th. Donations of materials in good condition are accepted and the profits from the book sale benefit the Friends of the Library. Monica Koldyke Miller, a local author from Indiana, will be giving a presentation at the Fort Recovery Public Library Tuesday, February 21st, at 6:00 PM. Her discussion will include information about how she got her start in writing and her first published book, “Threads of Betrayal”. Signed copies of her books will be available for purchase at the presentation. This free event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Battle of the Books Competition

Good luck to all students participating in the Battle of the Books on Tuesday, March 20th at 6:30 PM at the Fort Recovery Elementary Auditeria. Over 50 students from Fort Recovery and Coldwater will be competing as teams in this battle to determine who has the most knowledge. The students were given a pre-selected list of titles to read and study to prepare for the competition. This event is open to the public.

The Friends of the Library will be hosting a Used Book Sale Tuesday, May 30 - Saturday, June 3 at the Library. Donations of clean, gently used books, movies, and audio books will be accepted at the Library. Magazines, Encyclopedias, Textbooks and Reader's Digest Condensed Version books will not be accepted. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Library and are used for programs and materials at the Library.
